Here’s another thing to love about the upcoming Thanksgiving Holiday Weekend….The Covered Bridge Artisans Tour! Each year for the last 16 years, local artists and craft makers in Flemington, Stockton & Lambertville have opened their studios to the public for the Covered Bridge Artisans Tour. Held on the Friday, Saturday and Sunday after Thanksgiving, the self guided driving tour of Southern Hunterdon County encourages you to stop in and visit five professional artist studios and a restored stone meeting house where eight specially invited artists will show their work. With the stops along the way you will meet artists and craftspeople that paint, create pottery, iron work, woodwork and furniture, stained glass, hand made jewelry, leatherworks, basketry, fiberarts and so much more. Many studios will have live demonstrations with their art and crafts for sale. Spend a day in the country driving through preserved farms, charming villages and hidden properties down long lanes. It’s a teriffic way to pick up some locally crafted gifts for the holidays while taking some time for yourself along the road less traveled.
So if you’re looking to ‘gobble up’ some quiet time after Thanksgiving, come relax with us here at Main Street Manor B&B. Take a few days to recharge your battery before heading back to work on Monday. We’ll set you up with a Covered Bridge Artisans map and directions to make the most of this amazing Tour. Come visit…and let us spoil you!
