October 1-3, 2010…10am-5pm…Prallsville Mill…Stockton NJ
I have been waiting two years for this show!!! AND its finally here! If you are a lover of handiwork and find delight in color, creativity and fabric…then this destination is for YOU!!! The Courthouse Quilters have a bi-annual show..and it is being held THIS WEEKEND at Prallsville Mill!
We were invited to attend the preview party as supporters of the Guild’s recent fundraiser, the ‘Bra Brigade’. There was wine, music, appies and an oh, such a perfect venue for all of this…the Prallsville Mill! Main Street Manor’s sponsorship was a great opportunity for us to to preview the show…up-close & personal! The ‘Bra Brigade’ is a fun and creative exhibit featuring ‘bras as art’ …all of which were made by the quilt guild members to benefit breast cancer patients at Hunterdon Regional Cancer Center. A calendar featuring those decorated bras are for sale at the show and is part of the fundraiser. Below is a photo of ‘our bra’…and appropriately it is called ‘the Victory Garden’! (Those of you who know us would know why we chose this bra!)
To best enjoy the show, attendees should stroll at their own pace as they drink in the beauty of the quilts. Be prepared with camera, dollars to take a chance on some beautiful quilts and the time to spend in a beautiful space surrounded by creative people! For me it is both inspirational and a zen-like experience. There is a gift shoppe on premises with many quilting-related treasures, vintage fabrics, tea towels, quilt kits and some beautiful completed quilts for sale! Lunch is available at the Mill along with free parking. A $7 admission fee is charged and a portion of the proceeds will benefit the Delaware River Mill Society. Call 484-554-5003 for more information…
Well, pictures speak louder than words…so I will end here with words and let the photos take over! These photos are just a sampling of whats there…I took photos of my faves…now go and find yours! HAVE FUN, enjoy the beauty and be inspired to create!!!
WITCHES, HEARTS & FUNKY QUILTS!!
This quilt spoke to me…it must be the home feel overall & the drama of its colors!
